Ohio AAP Successfully Advocates for You: Managed Care Plans to Not Reject Well-Child Visit Claims From Prior 365 Day Period

Ohio AAP is happy to report a recent update that all of the Medicaid managed care plans in Ohio are changing their policies to not reject any claims submitted for well-child visits that may fall prior to a 365 day period, meaning that their benefit is for a calendar year for 2021. This alignment in policy will help all children get caught up on well care who might have fallen behind during COVID-19 without worries about all children having to be seen at one time.

Ohio AAP leadership have been diligently advocating for this change to align all 5 plans and are excited to see this important amendment taking place. Our close working relationship with the managed care companies of Ohio helped facilitate this quick response making sure our member’s voices are always heard when decisions are being made that impact Ohio’s children.
