Annual Meeting Update: 2021 Meeting Moving to All Virtual Format!

Important 2021 Annual Meeting Update! While we were hopeful at the start of this year we would be able to safely meet in-person at Annual Meeting, after careful consideration we have decided to move this year’s meeting to an all virtual format. Though the meeting is October 29-30th, the factors listed below were top of mind as we worked though the best outcomes for all involved, and at the end of the day we want to be sure you, your family, our members and their patients and families are as safe as possible:

  • recent announcement of AAP’s NCE going virtual
  • hospitals limiting of in-person CME events for their staff which will severely affect many member’s availability to attend
  • weeks of reviewing COVID-19 data trends which continue to rise

We know there are best practices for safe gatherings such as distancing and masks, however, with the COVID-19 vaccine still not available for ages 11 and under, hundreds of thousands of our member’s patients are left vulnerable. With children becoming severely ill, at the end of the day, we need to do what is responsible to protect our children.

Our goal is retain the same level of education and networking experiences that makes our conference so special through innovative ideas and technology. We have many lessons learned from 2020, and with your ideas will improve interactions and outcomes for 2021!

We know this continues to be a challenging time for healthcare providers, and we remain incredibly appreciative of all you do and your care of Ohio’s children. If you should have any questions or concerns please contact our office at 614-846-6258 or via email at edawson@ohioaap.org.
